What Team Has The Best Chance Of Winning The Champions League ’22?

The last-16 draw has made Manchester City favourites ahead of Bayern Munich and Liverpool, while Paris Saint-Germain’s odds shorten.

The Champions League will resume in February, with Europe’s top teams competing for continental supremacy once again. Defending champions Chelsea have a winnable match in the last 16 against Lille of France, but only Real Madrid have ever successfully defended the title in the modern era.

Manchester City are favourites to win the competition for a second successive year, with Pep Guardiola’s side installed at odds of 4/1 with some bookmakers. The Premier League champions have been handed a favourable draw against German giants Bayern Munich, who they beat 5-1 on aggregate in last season’s semi-finals.

Liverpool, who beat City in the Champions League final last season, are second favourites at odds of 5/1, while Spanish giants Barcelona and holders Real Madrid are both priced at 6/1.

The Champions League Favourites

  1. Man City

11/4 with bet365 is the odds on Manchester City winning their first Champions League title in 2018. The last 16 will see Manchester City face Sporting CP, confident of progressing against the Portuguese outfit. City will look to leverage their experience as runners-up from last season in order to win the competition for a second time.

In the group stage, they recorded some significant victories over Paris Saint-Germain to finish above them. They lost two of their three games on the road in Group A, but they may be vulnerable away from the Etihad Stadium against top-tier opposition.

  1. Liverpool

Liverpool are the current favourites to win the Champions League at 9/4 with most bookmakers. The Reds have been in superb form this season, losing just once in the Premier League and remaining unbeaten in Europe.

They eased through their group stage with five wins and a draw, scoring 16 goals and conceding just three. Jurgen  Klopp’s side will be confident of progressing to the final, but they will need to be wary of their quarter-final opponents Porto. The Portuguese side beat Liverpool in the last 16 stage last season and will be looking to cause another upset this year.

  1. Barcelona

Barcelona are third favourites for the Champions League at 7/2 with most bookmakers . The Catalan side have had a mixed season so far, with inconsistency in the Liga Santander and some poor results in Europe.

They qualified for the knockout stages as runners-up in Group B, behind Tottenham Hotspur, but they will need to improve if they are to progress any further in the competition. Neymar is back at the club after  his record move from Paris Saint-Germain and he will be looking to help Barcelona win their first Champions League since 2015.

  1. Real Madrid

Real Madrid are fourth favourites for the Champions League at 4/1 with most bookmakers. The Spanish side have had a difficult season so far, with manager Julen Lopetegui being sacked after a  poor start to the season. They have since appointed Santiago Solari as manager and he has led them to some improved results, including a 5-1 win over Real Betis at the weekend.

  1. Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich are fifth favourites for the Champions League at 9/1 with most bookmakers. The German side have had a good season so far, with manager Niko Kovac leading them to the Bundesliga title last month.

Paris Saint-Germain are sixth favourites for the Champions League at 10/1 with most bookmakers. The  French side have had a difficult season so far, with manager Unai Emery leaving the club after a poor start to the season.

They have since appointed Thomas Tuchel as manager and he has led them to some improved results, including a 5-1 win over Lille at the weekend. However, they are still 10 points adrift of Ligue 1 leaders Lille and will need a good run in the Champions League if they are to win the competition for the first time.

  1. Atletico Madrid

  1. Juventus

Juventus are ninth favourites for the Champions League at 25/1 with most bookmakers. The Italian side have had a good season so far, with manager Massimiliano Allegri leading them to first place in Serie A.

However, they were knocked out of the Coppa Italia by Atalanta and will be looking to make a good run in the Champions League to  make up for that. They qualified for the knockout stages as group winners, but they will face a tough test against Atletico Madrid in the last 16.
